What can a pharmacist treat without a GP appointment?
We'll check your eligibility during your consultation and make sure pharmacist treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

pharmacist care?
In NSW, trained pharmacists can treat uncomplicated UTIs (women 18-65), resupply the oral contraceptive pill (women 18-49), manage four common skin conditions, and administer most vaccinations - no GP referral needed.

We'll always put your health first. If your symptoms need further assessment or treatment, we'll explain your options and refer you to a GP or other healthcare provider when appropriate.

At Gerringong Pharmacy, most clinical consultations are Standard (up to 15 minutes) at $49.95, plus the cost of any medicines where appropriate. If your consultation is likely to run longer, we'll confirm the fee before we start.

Choose the service you need and book online in just a few clicks.
You'll be seen in our private consultation room. The pharmacist follows a NSW Health clinical protocol, discussing your symptoms, history and current medicines. If treatment is appropriate, medicines are supplied on the spot. With your consent, a record of your consultation is shared with your regular GP so your care stays connected.

Consultation Fees
Following the NSW Pharmacy Trial, these services are now part of standard pharmacy practice at trained pharmacies like ours:
- Uncomplicated UTIs - women aged 18-65 (permanent since June 2024)
- Oral contraceptive pill resupply - women 18-49 using a low-risk pill continuously for 2 years as prescribed
- Skin conditions - shingles (18+), mild-moderate eczema (2-65), mild plaque psoriasis (18+), and impetigo/school sores (2 years+). Permanent since Sept 2025.
- Vaccinations - flu, COVID-19, shingles, RSV, travel vaccines and more.
Which conditions are covered?
Vaccine funding and 'free' NIP eligibility are current at September 2026, are subject to eligibility criteria, and can change with government policy at any time - please check with our pharmacist before your visit. All vaccinations we administer are recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), which your doctor and other health professionals can access.
